Hillcrest offers stunning views of the famous walled meadows of Swaledale, with the high fells beyond. The cottage is detached and private, yet part of the village of Low Row.
Hillcrest Cottage sleeps five guests. Upstairs is the master bedroom, with a king-size bed, as well as a single bedroom and family bathroom. Unusually, the main sitting room is also on the first floor, where its elevated position offers fabulous views. A little log-burning stove and two comfy sofas provide the perfect place to unwind after a day's walking. On the ground floor a south-facing double bedroom and a shower room/wc are handy for anyone who finds stairs a problem. A dining/sitting area has a TV and DVD player. There's wireless internet, of course. The galley kitchen is well fitted out, including a dishwasher and range-style cooker, and the utility room and washing machine will be welcomed by anyone with muddy boots and clothes. Outside are an attractive patio and garden, and secure storage for bicycles. If you can tear yourself away from the cottage, a five-minute stroll will take you to the Punch Bowl Inn, a welcoming gastropub in Low Row. If you fancy a longer walk, take your pick: gentle riverside rambles and more demanding fell-top hikes are on your doorstep. And if you feel the call of the big city - but will settle for a small, lively market town - then Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes are all within a short drive, and are packed with sights, attractions, and good places to eat. You'll be spoiled for choice at Hillcrest Holiday Cottage. Website: upperswaledaleholidays.co.uk/hillcrest Telephone: 01748 886845 |
