There'll be bonfires and firework displays in and around Richmond on the Fifth of November. Richmond Town Council and the Fleece Hotel are presenting the town's annual fireworks display from 6 pm, at Richmond School. The display starts at 7 pm, and although it's free there will be a bucket collection. (Will there be a bonfire? We don't know.) Ten miles away, on Reeth Green (a fabulous location, surrounded by the darkness of the Swaledale fells) the annual Reeth Bonfire and Fireworks display kicks off at 6:30. Again, it's free, with a bucket collection. A barbecue will be available throughout the evening. In Leyburn, there'll be a bonfire night event at Thornborough Hall, from 7 to 8:30 pm - we have no other details. Organisers of these events seem rather coy with their publicity. They should really post a free ad in What's On Richmond. Perhaps your best bet is just to follow the flashes and bangs on the night?
