A converted stone-built barn, between Askrigg and Hawes, West Shaw Cote sleeps up to four guests. It sits on a plateau, with wonderful views of Addleborough and Weather Fell on the far side of Wensleydale, and is reached by a private road.
Two bedrooms, a king-size and a double/twin, are upstairs, together with a family bathroom. Downstairs is a storage room for coats and boots. The lounge has comfortable leather sofas and oak furniture, with a smart TV and a multi-fuel stove. There's a well equipped kitchen, but you needn't use it if you don't want to: just order breakfast from the owners, by What'sApp, and it will be delivered to your door! Same with dinner; there's a choice of about a dozen dishes, plus children's meals and pizzas. A large hot-tub , plunge pool and barrel sauna are all on site and available for hire. If you're heading out and like a little purpose to your walking, why not stroll to Hawes by footpath and lane? Visit the Dales Countryside Museum to learn more about this wonderful area; stop off at the Creamery to see real Wensleydale cheese being made; sit down for some people-watching in the busy market place. If you're going further afield by car, you're in a great crossroads area: Wensleydale on your doorstep, Ribblesdale and magical Chapel-le-Dale to the south, and the Lake District not too far away to the west. (And if your car happens to be an electric one, you'll be pleased that there's a charger back at the cottage.) Owners Jo and Steve look forward to seeing you!
