Our latest dip into the delights of What's On Richmond has pulled out a talk by professional archaeologist Jim Brightman, for the Civic Society, on the early years of Richmond's medieval settlement. In particular, he will report on last year's Community Archaeology Project in Richmond Castle: how it came about; who was involved and, most importantly, what was found and how it has increased our understanding of the castle's early medieval history. The talk is in the Main Hall of Richmond School, at 19:30 on Wednesday 19 January. Non-members are welcome - tickets are £5.
