The Easter Bunny is still busy in Richmond... Here at the Information Centre, in Richmond's Victorian Market Hall, we still have some Cadbury's eggs to give away in our Looking up competition! Just bring your under-12 youngsters to our shop between 10:00 and 16:00, pick up a quiz form, and take a short walking tour round the Market Place. There's a simple map to follow, and six simple questions to test the kids' powers of observation. But be quick! The quiz will end when all the 100 chocolate eggs have been won; meanwhile, our Webmaster is looking at them greedily... The Station's Great Egg Robbery Easter Activity Trail is still on! Can your little egg-finders recover the stolen loot? Trail sheets are £1 per child, and are available from The Station Shop every day between 10am and 4pm until 14 April. There's a small prize. And when the hunt is over, you'll find a three-screen cinema to keep your children entertained (1) - as well as an ice-cream shop and sweet-shop to top up that sugar-rush! (2) (1) Films coming up at the Station Cinema include Ghostbusters, Kung Fu Panda 4 and Dune Part Two (2) Real meals are also available, at the excellent Station Cafe/Bar

"Where can I walk my dog?" We get that question all the time at the Info Centre, and the answer is "Almost everywhere". But if you're visiting and want some more specific ideas, here are a few... The Town Trail. Just follow your nose round town, or pick up a copy of Richmond Walks (£2) from the Information Centre for a more informed ramble. The Batts: a green riverside area near The Station. Good for splashing! The Easby Loop. 2.5 mile riverside walk from The Station. Another of the four enjoyable circular rambles in Richmond Walks. The Old Racecourse, just north of town. Great for flat-out galloping! Our page on nearby Castles and stately homes flags up all those which allow dogs in their parks and grounds, with a 🐕 symbol. Scorton Lakes nature reserve; 350 acres of lovely lakes, level tracks and recent re-wilding, just a few miles from Richmond. Pick up a free leaflet/map at the Info Centre. And don't forget our free, downloadable FAQsheet on Dog-friendly Richmond, which lists dog-friendly cafes, pubs, accommodation and other walks in the area. (As a responsible dog owner, you don't need reminding to bag and remove poo - and not hang the bag on a stile or a tree... Or that any sign urging you to "keep dogs under control" should be read as "on a lead, please!") Happy walking. Arf, arf! We've not dipped into What's On Richmond for several weeks, so here goes... Ah! The famous Katona Twins are back! If you haven't heard this great guitar duo, you'll really enjoy their evening medley of works from Bach to the Beatles. Plenty of drama and Spanish flair are promised en route, as well as a couple of pieces by the king of gypsy jazz, Django Reinhardt. The fun starts at 19:30 on 6 April, in Richmond School hall. Details at the Richmondshire Concerts website, rsconcerts.org, and you can pick up tickets at the door (£20, or just £1 for U16s). Tickets for the 2024 Swaledale Festival are on sale. Book now - because some events can sell out very fast! In fact we'll bet that some of the walks are already sold out. All the events are individually priced, so you can drop in and out as you like. Venues range from tiny chapels to 400-seater auditoriums, from the giddy heights of upper Swaledale to the broad acres of lower Wensleydale. Need somewhere to stay?
