From 28 February until 1 April, our volunteers will be on duty in the Market Hall from 10 to 3 (or 10:00 to 15:00 if you prefer). After 1 April we will go onto longer summer hours.

Here's our latest dip into What's On Richmond - a concert by the winners of the BBC New Generation Artists award, the superb Consone Quartet. Performing on instruments from the classical period, this brilliant ensemble will play works by composers including Haydn and Beethoven. The concert is part of the Richmondshire Concerts series, which has been running for over 70 years. It takes place at the Influence Church at 7:30 pm on Wednesday. Tickets are £16 on the door, or just £1 for students in full-time education. More details, and online ordering, if you prefer, are at rsconcerts.org. That was my first thought when I heard about Richmond Council's FREE Pancake Feast. Whether you like the traditional taste of lemon and sugar or fancy fruit and yoghurt, you'll be welcome to join in the fun at Richmond Town Hall. Tuesday 1st March from 11am-1pm. There IS such a thing as a free pancake, but if you're feeling generous your donations will benefit the Mayor's charities. Flipping Marvellous!
And prosecco! Yes, these are among the benefits which are not offered to volunteers at Richmond Information Centre! But there are lots of other pleasures to be enjoyed as a member of our friendly team, which is why that VOLUNTEER link at the top has been getting so many hits lately. Click the link to learn more, or read this nice article from Richmondshire Today. And then come and join us! (That chocolate cake does look rather good...) The A6108 from Scotch Corner to Richmond will be closed to most traffic from 7 February to 22 April, for major road works. Public buses and school buses will run as normal until about 18 Mar; information about bus services after that date will be posted here as soon as we have details. Affected traffic will be diverted through Brompton-on-Swale and Catterick Garrison (see map). Drivers on the A1M heading for Richmond or Swaledale should probably exit at J 52 (Catterick Interchange), not Scotch Corner. On 22 Apr the A6108 will reopen, but two-way lights near Skeeby may cause hold-ups. By mid-May, normal service will be resumed. Fingers crossed... Our latest dip into What's On Richmond has pulled out two of our favourite activities - a 'pub' quiz! and a good meal! - in one event. Perfect! Head down the The Station at 19:00 on Friday 11 February, with your team (max 6 per table) for an evening of fun and food, to benefit the Richmond Walking and Book Festival. Tickets are £17.50, and include sweet and savoury sharing platters, provided by the Station Cafe and Bar. And prizes! To book, email [email protected], or phone 01748 825867. Bon appétit! And good luck! |
