Hot weather tips

It’s hot, and there’s a sting in the sun, so please take precautions, particularly with children and pets.

Recommendations from the NHS:

• Use at least Factor 30 sunscreen. Replace it if it’s more than two years old, because it won't be much use.
• Slap on plenty - particularly on children - and remember to add more after swimming.
• Avoid the sun if you can. A tan doesn’t offer any protection.

And from the RSPCA:

• Don't leave dogs in hot cars or caravans, even for a short time, even with the windows open.​
• Keep pets out of the sun; don't walk them too far; and take water and a bowl wherever you go.
