Richmondshire Ramblers, the local branch of the national Ramblers organisation, is restarting its regular walks in a Covid-safe manner. While organised walking is now permitted in groups of up to 30, the local group is limiting group size to a maximum of 12. Further measures to increase walker safety include a formal risk assessment of each walk, taking a register for track-and-trace purposes, and adherence to social distancing. Brian Benson, the local Chairman, says there is plenty of demand for the sort of walks the group offers, which vary in length and difficulty and take place throughout Richmondshire. The walks that have taken place since early September have all been well supported, and more walks for October and November are planned. To find out more, or sample a walk, visit the Richmondshire Ramblers website, richmondshireramblers.org.uk, or ring Brian on 07815 182450, or Janet Milne, Group Secretary, on 01748 468637.
